About DSF Zero Hunger Program

Since 2010, the Dr. Sadiq Foundation (DSF) has been committed to fighting hunger among the most vulnerable. Under the Zero Hunger Initiative, one of our flagship efforts is the BBH Food Project at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (Rawalpindi).

Every day, hundreds of patients admitted to BBH face the challenge of poverty and illness at the same time. Many cannot afford proper meals, leaving them weak and malnourished during critical treatment. DSF stepped in to ensure that no patient is left hungry while fighting for health.

The critical task of providing three daily meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—to indoor patients requires a complex supply chain to ensure the continuous availability of fresh ingredients. To meet the nutritional needs of an average of 400 patients per meal, engaging multiple vendors became necessary to ensure an uninterrupted food supply. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic introduced significant hurdles, including a decrease in patient numbers due to social distancing measures, which disrupted service dynamics and logistics.

DSF Food project is more than food — it’s about compassion, care, and community at work.
